When my husband and I came to Washington for the first time to look for houses before we moved here, Tolmie State Park was what sold us on the house we are in now! We loved that we would be close to water and a beautiful place to go for a good little hike. And of course, it’s the perfect place to take family photos!
When I asked Meggin if she had any location ideas for their family photos, Tolmie State Park was her first choice. They live close to the park as well and spend a lot of time down there so it was a no brainer. It’s so fun to find a place that holds a special place in your heart where you can take pictures to always remember.
It was a beautiful evening with lots of cloud coverage. The rain held out for us and we got lots of fun images in the trees and along the water. We were all surprised to see the tide up so high while we were there. Usually it’s a lot lower and you can walk out and find lots of shells and sand dollars. That’s probably why it’s one of our favorite places to go.
We had a great time taking pictures. Mostly because those sweet red-headed girls have such great personalities! Especially little Miss Hazel. Hazel is in my Sunday school class at church and when she saw me get out of the car for our photo session she was so excited and enthusiastic to see that I was the one taking their photos. And she’s like that every single time she sees me. It’s my favorite. She’s a sweet heart with a little sass in her. When I got her on her own I didn’t even have to tell her what to do. She had all her own pose ideas and I just went with it. She had us all rolling.
