I’ve known for a while that I needed to introduce myself here. And I’ve wanted to. But writing about myself is hard! I mean, if we were chatting in person and having an actual conversation I could tell you anything that you wanted to know. But just putting random information about me out there feels so awkward and uncomfortable for some reason! I want you to be able to get to know a little about me though so that I can get to know you as well! And that’s how we become friends right?! So here goes nothin’!
I’m Brittany, some call me Britt or B as well! I’m a wife, a mom and so many other things. I have twin girls and a baby boy that just turned 1. It’s crazy how fast time flies with little ones! I love my little people and am so so grateful that I get to be their mama.
I know I’ve mentioned my love for dark chocolate before… it runs deep you guys! My favorite dark chocolate treat right now is the almond Bark Thins that you can get in the big bag at Costco. It’s just so good! I have a massive collection of nail polish, but still don’t seem to have enough. I love to travel, by myself or with others. I love to see and experience new places or just travel home to visit family and friends. I love to organize. To-do lists are my jam. And I’m a sucker for cute planners, notebooks and pens. My Monday night ritual after the kids have gone to bed is to pile all the clean laundry from the day onto my bed and binge watch my favorite shows while folding. You’ll usually catch me watching Grey’s Anatomy, A Million Little Things, or reruns of Friends.
My love for photography started with my dad’s old film SLR Minolta and the high school darkroom. That was when I first realized that I could have dreams and passions alongside my dream of being a mom. Despite the warnings I got about going into a creative field as a profession, I went for it. I graduated from BYU-Idaho with a BS in Arts & Photography. I jumped into the world of wedding and portrait photography with one of the best as my mentor and friend. I was lucky to get to work with Hattie from Vintage Road Photographers and learned invaluable skills from her.
From Idaho we moved to Colorado, where I’m from, then to Maryland and then here to Washington. With each move I have had to start over from scratch but I’ve continued to learn and grow each time. I’m so excited to now be a Washington photographer! It’s so nice knowing that we will be able to put roots down and call this beautiful place home. I know that it will allow me to better serve my clients and build lasting relationships with them. That is my most favorite thing about my job as a photographer. I love meeting new people, becoming friends and learning just what makes them who they are! Their stories, their family, their careers, their dreams and aspirations! I want to know it all! 🙂
So there you have it! Just a bit about me and where I started. I can’t wait to get to know you more! What’s a dream or passion you have?
